When tracking my ancestors from Tinn, Telemark I came across a farm record that stated “Miland ha vorte gard i vikingetidi”. Approximate translation, “Farm Miland was a farm in the time of the Vikings”. For me, I latched onto that as “proof” that I was decended from the Vikings.
